You know a contest is bad when we get matches like this in round two. Round one having a ton of blowouts is bad enough, but then you get something like this where a year like 2008 has a ton of pretty strong games in it and gets thoroughly demolished anyway. Quick reminder that 2008 got 72% in its own round one match, and then it turns around and its opponent gets 68%. This contest was blowout city, and I don't have a lot of interesting ways to talk about it.

The real shame here is in a games contest, it would be hard for a lot of these 2008 games to only get 31.6% in a match. But a year contest where we're getting under 17,000 votes per match? Oh yeah.

The hyped 1995/2001 duel was over before it started, too. No way was the weakened state of 1995 going to take down the SSBM/FFX unholy alliance. Add in all the other great games from 2001, and I went into that match thinking 1995 would be lucky to break 45%.
