## Ulti's Analysis

When this match happened, we all thought it was a championship quality performance from 1997 and that it could potentially give 1998 a decent fight in the final. 2007 is a year stacked with high midcarder type games, like BioShock and Super Mario Galaxy, and for 1997 to get 71% on it was crazy. Little we know at the time that 2007 was just hot garbage and 1997 was en route to the typical choke job that Final Fantasy 7 always gives us in contests.

I'd like to point out that 2007 got 76.5% in its own round one match, which made all the blowouts in round two super weird. I know we'll never have another contest like this one (thank god), but there is no way the LOL x-stats from this thing are going to make any sense when you have stuff like "76.5% in round one, then 29% in round two" going on. With each new contest, the transitive property means less and less even when rallying isn't going on. I'd love to credit 90s power for this, but the 90s were not invincible in this contest. Low vote totals just gives you a lot of dumb results.
