## Ulti's Analysis

As someone who picked 91 \> 94 as an upset special, its weakness in this match just blew me away. I figured the 90s would just wreck everything outside the 90s, so when this match started in the 63-37 range followed by 1991 bleeding percentage all day it was a Carl Lewis UH OH moment. I know 2002 isn't fodder by any stretch, but all contest long we've seen round 1 entrants go from huge round 1 performances to getting wrecked in round 2. 1991 struggling here was bad news, and was basically the warning bell that it had no chance next round without tons of SNES pictures.

That being said, 1991 is basically the Super Mario World year. How many games from 2002 would break 45% on Super Mario World? Maybe Metroid Prime and Kingdom Hearts? This contest threw the transitive property and the LOL x-stats all out of whack, which is fine by me given the x-stats influence on these contests has been trash, but man.

We really need to never have a contest like this again. Games, characters, and the occasional gimmick is fine. This just wasn't one such gimmick. No one cares about years and no one plays a game they love and goes "YEAH THAT GAME IS FROM 2015 SO 2015 IS THE BEST GAMING YEAR EVER!".

I picked 2015 as my random example here because I just got the Bloodborne platinum. I love Bloodborne and couldn't give less than a shit about 2015 the year. What a silly contest idea.
