## Ulti's Analysis

Over half of people thought Sub-Zero would lose to Claire Redfield, Joker, or Skulk. Sure. I don't get it.

This match is the reason why all the arguing about Joker vs Claire seemed a bit pointless, because it was alwaus destined to be a one point match. Granted each point is important, but it's not like that winner was going on a run like the Kefka/L winner. Sub-Zero demolished lucky fodder that couldn't even benefit from getting hype in her own series. We talked about Kingdom Hearts 3 hype being a dud, because Resident Evil 2 remake hype was worse. It did nothing and no one cares. That series is dead on arrival on this site and it will take a long time to fix it. Resident Evils 5 and 6 just murdered it in cold blood.

Capcom in general is just loaded with self sabotage, and this match proved it. Claire Redfield should never get demolished like this. Blizzard and Konami are the only examples worse than Capcom for self sabotage. What an embarrassment.

Oh hey there's another match where we're still nearly unanimous (over 90%) and the casuals are split far enough that the favorite has less than 50% of brackets. This one's at least a little understandable because of the seedings; Joker was a 2-seed and a newcomer and Shulk was also the seeding favorite and didn't have Smash yet when he lost in Round 1 in 2013, so it would be easy enough for people to overestimate them. If anything, this shows where our biggest weakness to being embarrassed by the casuals lies--we usually don't have much faith in newcomers, so if one of them actually shows strength, they can easily ruin us.

This was the only normal match this day. People were expecting around a doubling from Sub-Zero and guess how much he won? With a doubling! Sub-Zero is cool! Get it? Man I still remember when I first played MK 2. Sub-Zero was my favorite since then and he still is. I also believe he would beat Scorpion on this site. Sub-Zero has  to be the 2nd strongest pure fighting game character. I don't count the Smash ones of course. As for Claire well she did okay. RE did bad in this contest unfortunately. She did earned an upset win at least. Divisions should be like this one. We barely knows who will win the next matches!

A strange thing is though the prediction percentage. Less than 50%. Why? People thought that Claire, Skulk or Joker would win here? Seriously? I guess people thought that Joker since he had the 2 Seed would win? But seeds mean nothing as we know.
