In our first matchup featuring two fighting game characters, Scorpion won as expected. The prediction percentage and odds favored Scorpion to win with ease, and win with ease he did. The intriguing thing, however, is one of the site's earliest poll results:

Of course, old polls with 5500 total votes have to be taken with a grain of salt; still, one would assume that Mishima would not have simply rolled over and died the way he did. Either Tekken has not aged well, Mortal Kombat *has* aged well, or Scorpion was simply much stronger than originally thought. Or maybe it was all three.

It would be interesting to see how Kazuya would do now that he's been in Smash Bros. I doubt he would win, but he'd certainly put on a better showing than whatever this was. Otherwise, totally forgetful match in a contest loaded with forgetful matches. This contest had a good final stretch, but man were these early rounds loaded with garbage.
